Microelectronics Building, Technion, Haifa
The building is located at the Technion– Israel Institute of Technology– campus in Haifa. This building forms an extension both academically and spatially of the Solid State Physics Building. The program called for the most sophisticated laboratory space requiring a high level of clean-rooms and vibration free spaces. These clean-rooms are sandwiched between two technical levels – plumbing utilities underneath and AC above. The façade of the building is articulated by cutting into the main volume by means of the entrance section and fenestration. The materials aesthetically extend the façade of the Solid State Building, built almost 20 years earlier.
