Solid State Physics Building, Technion, Haifa

The building, which houses a workspace for the research of Solid State Physics, is located at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology – campus in Haifa.
We wished to create a flexible laboratory area both in terms of size and infrastructure. By locating a ring of laboratories around a large central shaft, a maximally efficient area was created. Another ring encompasses the laboratory ring, creating additional workspace for researchers. By occasionally cutting into the outer ring, the building's mass was articulated and views between the interior and exterior areas were revealed.
